ICT in Education
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become an indispensable component of modern education. The effective integration of ICT in teaching and learning processes enhances pedagogical quality, widens access to knowledge, and equips learners with digital competencies essential for participation in the knowledge economy. For teacher education institutions, ICT integration is both a research priority and a professional practice imperative.
At Kaliammal College of Education, student-teachers are trained to use ICT tools purposefully and critically in their classroom practice. This includes using digital presentations, e-learning platforms, educational software, and internet-based resources to enrich teaching, support diverse learners, and foster interactive, collaborative learning environments.
Faculty and student-teachers are encouraged to explore current research in ICT pedagogy, digital literacy frameworks, and the role of ICT in bridging educational inequalities in rural and semi-urban school settings across Tamil Nadu.
